I am the vicar at St George’s Church. I have been involved with primary school governing bodies since the year 2000. I have also served as chair of governors at three local primary school. I am able to provide experienced leadership in my role as chair of St George’s C of E Primary School Governing Body, a position I have held since 2016.

Mrs Natalie Bevan

SEND responsibilities Vice Chair of Governors

I am a parent of two children currently attending St George’s, they have attended the school since they started in nursery. I work in the Local Authority as a Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) team lead for Early years and Preparing for Adulthood (PfA). I started as a parent governor in 2016 and a year later put myself forward to become the vice chair of the governing body. Prior to being a governor, I was treasurer and a committee member on the board for Little Dragons Childcare Ltd, I am still a member of the committee as this provides an important link to a partner organisation on the school site.

Mr Alan Talbot

Foundation Governor

I am currently a church warden at St George’s Church. I have served St George’s Church in various capacities for fifty years. I have long associations with local schools, having previously chaired the local secondary school and had the role of vice chair of governors at St George’s. I provide a vital link to our church foundation and the local community.

Mr Roger Betteridge

Health and safety responsibility

I am the schools longest standing governor. I have been on the governing body for thirty-three years in total, with two spells supporting the school. I have taken on various roles over a significant number of years. I am currently responsible for health and safety at school.
I can provide invaluable experiences across different sectors of education. I have been involved in some of the key developments during my time at St George’s, helping the schools to become to the outstanding school it is today.

Mrs Wendy Shedden

Parent Governor

I was elected in Autumn 2017 by the parent body. I am an experienced primary teacher at a Telford School, as well of a parent of a young child at St George’s. This gives me a unique perspective to support the school as we move forward.

Mr John Jones

School leadership/standards responsibility

I am a retired Headteacher of a local secondary school. I bring the qualities of an experienced, senior education professional to the governing body. I am currently responsible for scrutiny of data and supporting the strategic development of the school. This professional input is backed by a thorough knowledge of the school community I knows so well from my time as a serving Headteacher in the area.

Mrs Kim Sohier

Staff governor

My name is Kim Sohier. I am the staff governor here at St George’s. This term of office, will be my third (although not consecutively)
I have worked at St George’s since April 2001. Currently, I have responsibility for delivering French across the whole school, which is a role that I really enjoy.
In addition to this teaching commitment, I am also the lead first aider, which, with so many staff and children, keeps me equally busy.
Outside of school, I am married with 2 grown up sons and a dog called Charlie. I love to swim, cook and walk. In addition to my schoolwork, I am also employed by 2 private swimming schools to teach swimming, from 3+ to 70+, beginners to triathletes.
Previous staff governor but newly appointed in October 2019.

Mrs Rachel Humphreys

Previous staff Governor

Mrs Rachel Humphreys has worked as a senior teaching assistant for twenty years at St George’s. Her own child was a pupil at the school. She is familiar with the day to day working at St George’s and has been chosen by the staff to represent them on the governing body for a second time. Rachel stepped down as a staff governor on the 19/10/2019.
